The aim of this work was to investigate the effects of Zn application on grain yield, grain Zn and P concentrations, phytic acid (PA), and PA/Zn ratio in rice. Field experiment was conducted in Osmancık, Çorum by using 6 rice genotypes (Osmancık 97, KA 080, KA 081, Lotto, Akçeltik, GA 7721) with 3 replications. Zinc was applied into the soil at the rates of 0, 0.5 and 1.0 kg Zn da-1 as ZnSO4.7H2O. At the end of the experiment, the rice genotypes of KA 081, Lotto, Akçeltik, GA 7721 were positively affected by zinc applications and their yield increased. On the other hand, Osmancık 97 and KA 080 genotypes were negatively affected, yield decrease was not found statistically significant. Grain yield of all genotypes increased by zinc applications, except Osmancık 97. The grain zinc content increased depend on the zinc applied in all the rice genotypes, whereas the P, PA and PA/Zn ratio decreased. The experiment results showed that Osmancık 97 being the most appropriate genotype, because of its higher soil Zn utilization efficiency for the soil of Osmancık District of Çorum.
